Sadly, I have quite literally nothing to report this week because not one of the official and unofficial statistical data sources upon which I base this blog and analysis have published their data in the past week.  That is a discouraging reflection on current public health priorities given that the holiday season almost always includes the annual peak in new COVID and other respiratory viral infections.  The official signal is “Move along folks, nothing to see here”.  For the actual Canadian public who public servants are supposed to be serving, that means an information vacuum in terms of guidance on whether or it would be wise to wear masks in the most indoor social and shopping time of the year.
